Some of the highlights:
1. First destination: Las Vegas, NV - went to see the Lion King.
2. Grand Canyon, AZ: breath-taking views!
2. The Navajo Reservation, AZ - never trust a GPS. Betty (our GPS) decided to take us through an area with no gas and no food.
3. Some where in New Mexico: went through the "Mexican Border". They had to check to see if we were smuggling Mexicans
4. New Orleans, LA: went to Cafe du Monde and had their famous Beignets. Sooooo good. Never got a picture of them -- we had too eat them right away.
5. Pensacola Beach, FL: crazy white beaches! Swam in the Gulf of Mexico.
6. Hunstville, AL: got plenty of rest at Heather's house. Went shopping and went to The Melting Pot for dinner. Mmmm three course dinner and all of it was fondue!
7. Between Madison, AL and Memphis, TN: drove through a tornado warning.
8. Nashville, TN: bought my first pair of cowboy boots! Went to a country bar and had fried pickles (didn't have my camera so no pictures). And just before Nashville, we visited the Jack Daniels Distillery!
9. Atlanta, GA: Went to the aquarium. Interesting fact: Whale Shark -- not a shark and not a whale; its a huge fish! Got to babysit the cutest kid (Shawna's cousin) in the world. But I won't be missing Wonder Pets any time soon. And the kitties...posing like no other!
10. Orlando, FL: Universal Studios! Got to ride some of the classic rides (Jurassic Park, The Mummy) Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Greatest disappointment: didn't get to try butterbeer.
Best thing out of the whole trip: three weeks of pure bliss with my besties!
